Forensic science plays a critical role in modern medico-legal investigation, where accuracy, documentation and evidence integrity are non-negotiable. A virtual autopsy approach strengthens this process by enabling non-invasive imaging, clearer visualization of internal findings, stronger digital documentation and more structured review before or alongside conventional examination. In a field where clarity matters and ambiguity becomes courtroom furniture, this is a meaningful step forward.

VMD has successfully delivered two Virtual Autopsy and Forensic Solutions projects for leading institutions in the North East: NEIGRIHMS Shillong and RIMS Imphal. At NEIGRIHMS Shillong, the solution includes an advanced 32-slice CT system, while at RIMS Imphal, the project features a 16-slice CT-based setup. Together, these projects reflect the growing adoption of technology-enabled forensic workflows across premier academic and healthcare institutions.

These projects also demonstrate VMD’s capability to deliver a holistic forensic solution, not just individual equipment. From imaging systems and visualization platforms to documentation workflows, secure data architecture and the supporting infrastructure required for operational readiness, VMD brings the full ecosystem together in one coordinated delivery model. That is the difference between supplying machines and actually building a forensic capability.
